Arrive at Pereira Airport and meet your Trail Hunters team. From here, we head to Salento, a colorful mountain town surrounded by coffee farms, valleys and Andean views. We’ll set up the bikes, review the route plan and enjoy a relaxed first evening before the riding starts.
Start the riding with a shuttle-assisted enduro day in the Andean forest near La Línea and Calarcá. From Salento, we head up into the Central Andes to link four legendary local trails: Ventiaderos, La Selva, Waterfall and Parapentes.
Expect natural singletrack, forest sections, technical terrain and big descents — around 14 km of singletrack and approximately 2,437 m of elevation loss. It’s the perfect first taste of Quindío enduro and a strong start to the Epic Andes riding experience.
Ride three of Salento’s best-known trails in the highlands above town: Nieblas, Alegrías and El Ocho. This zone is part of Colombia’s Coffee Cultural Landscape and combines big views, natural singletrack and classic enduro terrain.
These trails have been featured in Colombian downhill and enduro events, delivering around 13 km of singletrack and approximately 1,750 m of elevation loss — a standout ride day based out of Salento.
Ride into La Carbonera, one of the most iconic wax palm landscapes in the Colombian Andes. We start high in the mountains with the scenic Wax Palm Trail, surrounded by towering palms, open valleys and high-Andean views.
The day continues with a big-mountain descent through routes such as Camino Real, Alegrías and the historic Indigenous Trail. Expect around 29 km of singletrack and approximately 2,422 m of elevation loss — one of the signature ride days of Epic Andes.
After three strong ride days in Quindío, take a slower morning in Salento to rest, explore town or enjoy an optional coffee experience. This is a good moment to recharge before moving into the next riding zone.
Later, we transfer to Manizales, Colombia’s mountain biking capital and one of the gateways to the Central Andes. The route takes us through coffee landscapes and mountain roads as we prepare for the second half of the Epic Andes journey.
Ride high into the Central Andes near Nevado del Ruiz, starting in the dramatic Páramo de Letras landscape at around 3,800 m. From here, we access the legendary Los Nevados Natural Park Trail, also known by local riders as El Desquite.
Expect around 22.3 km of singletrack and approximately 2,394 m of elevation loss, descending through remote páramo terrain, Andean forest and rugged natural trail. It’s one of the most scenic and memorable big-mountain days of Epic Andes.
For the final full ride day, we head into the mountains near Manizales and Neira, one of Colombia’s strongest MTB regions. This zone blends Andean forest, coffee farms, rural mountain roads and natural enduro terrain, creating a wild and diverse setting for the last big ride of the trip.
We’ll link four local classics — Guacaica River, Avocado, Sugar Cane and Hummingbird — through natural singletrack, coffee landscapes, forest sections and fast technical descents. Expect around 15.7 km of singletrack and approximately 1,848 m of elevation loss, closing the Epic Andes riding experience with a proper mountain bike finale.
Enjoy a relaxed final breakfast in Manizales after a full week of riding through Colombia’s Coffee Lands, wax palm forests and high Andean trails.
Depending on your flight schedule, we’ll help coordinate the morning and transfer you to Pereira Airport for your journey home. This is the end of Epic Andes — but hopefully just the beginning of your next ride in Colombia.
No need to bring your own bike. We’ve got you covered with a premium full-suspension E-MTB, ready for big mountain days in Colombia.
If you prefer to bring your own bike, just let us know and we’ll adapt the logistics.
